Rarely on the open market, ARGIT created French silverware and silver-plate in the early 1900s. Renowned for both their French Art Nouveau and Art Deco pieces, this bowl dates from around the 1920s with its clear Art Deco design.
Un-restored and in totally original condition for a piece of some 100 years old, the ARGIT stamp and maker's hallmark are well struck and it has kept its form very well. There are some light scratches and very few misses to the silver.
Originally a bread pan, this would make a great fruit bowl or centrepiece—as clearly it should be on display all the time.
